0x1A

I was using this Dev C++ version 4 to compile to code written to convert the jpeg to exif format. and after trying for 2 hours to debug my code, I came to know the actual bug.

Actually, whenever it encounters 0x1A in the source file, it reads it as 0xFF. I tried fscanf, fgetc, fread, but none of them seem to work with this. When I am reading using fgetc and printing on the stdout, it prints 0xFF, when it should actually print ox1A, and after that the program hangs. I think this is a bug in the compiler :)

yeye, no bug in my code :)

Exif forensic

Hey
Most of the forensic information about computer essentials are publicized by the official documentation only and as these kinds of documentation tend to be very huge and lengthy to be understood easily, the importance of unofficial, easy to be understood forensic links are great. This is a very good link that I have come across, a forensic of exif file format.

Really good.

Extracting information about FAT-32 from Volume Boot Sector

From long time, I was thinking of posting the forensic on how to extract crucial information from FAT-32, so that whoever wants to explore the digital caves of file systems, can do it easily. What I will do is that I will give some pointers and rest is on you to explore it.

So any disk has the following parts:

Volume boot sector is 512 bytes in size and is present after 63 sectors which are fixed for MBR (master boot record). Volume boot sector is a key part of the fat-32 file system present on the disk and it keeps all the necessary information to know where the FAT-table,i.e, File Allocation Table, exists, from where the root directory starts (knowledge of this location is crucial, as it is the top of the directory tree in FAT-32), how many clusters are there on the disk, how many sectors on the disk, how many sectors in each cluster, what is the sector size and all.

To begin with, I will show how each of these crucial information can be extracted from the VBS. Also, this introduction is only to give a kick start to the people, and hence, I will only go to the very basic things. If you want to learn more advance things, "google" is where your should look for .

In VBS, the Big-endian notation is used, i.e, if you want to write 0x12345678 on the disk, you should first write ox78, on the next location 0x56, on the next location 0x34, and on the next location 0x12. Now if you want to read from , say offset 17 and 18, then the offset 17 will contains lower 8-bits of the result and the offset 18 will contain higher 8-bits of the result.

The disk is often divided into tracks.
The tracks are divided into clusters.
The clusters are divided into sectors.
The sectors are composed of "a-fixed-number-of-byte". These fixed number of byte are given in VBS and it is from here our journey will start.

I will call start of VBS as offset '0' and offset 'x' will mean xth byte of the VBS.

Now, to extract "number of bytes per sector", you should read offset 11 and 12. For example, if offset 11 contains "0x00" and offset 12 contains "ox02" , then the number of bytes per sector are 0x0200, i.e. 512,.

The offset 13 contains the number of sectors present in a cluster.

Once you know this, then it is time to familiarize you with the structure of FAT-32 formatted disk, unless you know it already. A fat-32 formatted disk will have following sections in order:
1. MBR - master boot record
2. VBS - volume boot record
3. Researved Sector - for future extention
4. FAT1- first file allocation table
5. FAT2 - second file allocation table, This is nothing but a copy of the FAT1.
6. DATA area.

Now, read offset 14 and 15 of the VBS to know the number of sectors in the reserved area. If you multiply this value by the "number of bytes per sector", you will get the location from where the FAT1 starts. This is one very important location. Now, read the location 36,37,38 and 39. This will give the total number of sector in each FAT, i.e, FAT1 and FAT2. If you know the start of the FAT1 table location (which we have aleady calculated earlier) and if you know the "number of sectors in each FAT" and if you know "number-of-bytes in each sector", you can easily calculate the start of the DATA area as following :
start of DATA area = start of FAT1 + "number-of-sector-in-each-FAT" * "bytes-per-sector" * 2

Multiply by 2 because there are 2 fat tables, FAT1 and FAT2, replica of FAT1.

So, now you should be knowing the following:
1. how many byte per sector,
2. how many sector per cluster
3. location of FAT1
4. location of FAT2 = start of FAT + "number-of-sector-in-each-FAT" * "bytes-per-sector"
5. start of DATA area

:)

I hope this post will help you to better understand the FAT-32 file system with all the theoritical information available on the internet, explaining the structure of data area and FAT-table, and will give you a better understanding of actual structure and will help to analyze the FAT-32 in a forensic way.

:)

The great Windows

Almost a month back, I had to format my laptop and I couldn't find any Windows Xp cd except one trial version. I was in such a hurry that I formatted it with that cd c0ntaining trial version. This trial version cd would let you experience windows xp home for a month and then you must activate windows. I thought I will reformat it after a month and it would do. A week remaining in a month, it started giving warnings that your installed windows trial time is about to expire and blahblahblah... In the morning it said that 2 days are remaining, after that you must activate it. Meanwhile, I was busy writting a paper and I thought I will reformat it tomorrow and guess what.... it expired in the evening itself.... In the morning it said 2 days are remaining... and in the evening it expired .... where is my one and half day remining ???? I was busy writting my paper, that paper is only in the harddisk and now I will have to do many silly things, like boot with floppy or boot with another operating system to copy all my documents.... and then format with a proper cd.... sometimes, the sucking level of windows reaches its heights...... its an amazing sucker

I could be more dangerous

year 2003: I was a king at mbm. August 2003 to Dec 2003, I lived one of the best time of my life. The memories will remain their for a life time and I will always cherish them, will always love to have them with me for my life time.
year 2004: First Time I realized competition at DAIICT. I was afraid I could be left behing being a hindi medium student. All my concentration was getting good grades. Bang 5th rank among 240. can't believe it but well , study was not what I wanted to do.
year 2005 : I wasted my time, every day sleeping and every night nightouts. everymorning eating at canteen before going to bed at 8:00 am, what a life was that
year 2006 . realized that my pointer is on sharp decline, need to maintain it, again studied and Bang great pointer again.
year 2007 : Once the pointer was on track, who cares afterwards. Did everything , more importance to projects, that actualy fascinates and only because they are fascinating and fun. Who cares for course work
Year 2008 : I am realizing my efforts could be more directed and concentrated. I should have decided earlier what I want to do. Is it Gre/CAT or whatever and I should have studied according to that. I could be more dangerous than.

m not happy

kafa hu aaj apne aap se , chubhan hai , kashish si kahin chupi hui ..... final semester of engineering, and when i look back, i see my self waisting time working for everything unuseful, working for what i am not supposed to work, working only what i wanted to ... all this is fine when u are only interested in enjoying college life and joining whatever company u get thru in placements but when u consider coll life as a professional, when u want ur career after coll to kickstart with the kind of job that u wish and with a good pay package, then the undirected efforts can always be a villain in ur dreams. What happened with me is something similar to this.

I did work, but only the things that I liked doing. I learned but only the things I liked learning and now I am at such an stage of my career that I have good expertise on many domains but but but ... of only few domains from IT, few from hardware, few from design. Collectively, I possess good experience of many but DIFFERENT things. For ex. I know C, JAVA C++, but not database, not data structures but algorithms. I have experience of designing embedded systems but never studied VLSI. I never did any design or animation course, but have made movies using flash, posters using photoshop. General question: whats big deal, u can learn few topics now, but thats what the big deal is... i am not happy with myself... myself = the one who only cares about what he wants and never give a damn to anything else. This decision, I should have taken at an early stage of my life that what I really want to do and I should have directed my efforts in that direction. I was advised to do so, by my teachers, my seniors etc. I am damn idiot. I am foolish. I could be the need of the market, today I need it.

PS: You can not understand this post and feelings behind this post, unless you have seen my transcripts, and myself oscillating my mind between career choices

ahh the triangle

characters
me :
rahul : one of my very good friends
dipti : A girl

Names of the characters have been changed to hide their true identity, however I dare and dont care, Me is me only :)

it was only yesterday evening that rahul told me one of his many secrets and ever surprizing it was to know that the guy had already proposed his first(hopefully) crush and when i came to know that this all happened 2 years ago, I became very excited to know who was that lucky girl and sometimes the movies become the reality and something similiar happened when he name "dipti". I dont want him to know that she was also my only "ONLY" crust at daiict. Never in my wildest or most frightening dream, I ever saw this triangle but anyway, it does not matter. Rahul, you are closer to me and that she will never be :), Doesnt matter even i dont get her, I was never closer to get her but I wish you get your crush :)

In b/w, the world became still, when he named dipti as her love.

Sometimes in life, giving gives more satisfaction, its not about the getting alwayz.

i hate her

blamed for a crime that never happened, hated because i deceived someone, but deceive because that someone believes i deceived, and pained because i want to show her that it is not me..... 3 months..... 3 months have flied since i was incriminated by few unfounded statements but yet uncomfortable, yet to be calmed, yet the storm is going in this heart.... how can i bear blames like this for so long when, i bet, u cannt live a single day with rest if accused for something unreal, smthing that u never did.

in the first month, I hided the truths coz they beared a possiblity of bringing more misunderstandings and during this period i was never taken for trust for a second probably. She started talking to me, for she forgave me ..... :) forgave me for what.... for what for the crime that she fabricated, for the blame that she enjoyed pouring upon me. After that having fed up of this, I told her the truth and as I had thought, it brought nothing but havoc..... and from now on... she enjoyed having disbelief upon me..... and would say, kabhi tu ye bolta hai, kabhi tu wo bolta hai .. i am nt able to trust..... ok fine .... for almost one month, i told her the truth and she was never believing on it and subsequently I was awarded for a "story-fabrication-award". After that seeing no improvement in relations, I said lies to her... and what was remained after that.... disbelieves.... not a penny of trust.... and ashes of a burned relation..... for the goodness sake, I tried for 3 months to make her believe that i m nt that person, only and solely because I thought we shared a good relation and it was only because of some misunderstandings bt now... given up... I dont want to look at her face, and y would I, when she doesnt care? but once, once in a lifetime, i want to show her that it was not me. there is really no place for her in my heart now except purgatory, bt the day i will show my cleanness, i will remove her from there also.... hoped u could have sm idea of how painful it is... bt nw i dont wish for it

painful break-ups

Effective communication is one of the biggest art that exist in the world today. Not every other person in the world can communicate his/her thoughts completely, impressively and convingly. Here I am not talking about daily communication. Day to day communication is so much practised that we can do it very glibly, comfortably. What I am talking about is the situations when expressing ideas and thoughts can actually complicate the other person's perception. Like the one picture you see on the left.
There is a guy in the pic, who has expressed his love to a girl and the girl wants him to forget about the love thing and not to love her anymore. The girl thinks that he still loves her and then she always try to avoid him, the guy can not suffer this being avoided and tries to explain things. All he wants to say is that he loves her so much that he cant stop loving her and at the same time he is not seeking any favour from her. He just has a hope that might someday become true and even if this hope never seems to be true, he will not make any deliberate efforts to make it true and get her. But the girl wants him to stop loving her, but he can not accept that he has stopped loving her and the more he tries to explain this thing to her, the situation keep getting more and more complicated because the girls sees his explanation as a try to show his love, win sympathy and emotions of the girl, and finally the love. An explanation that can complicated things further....!!! . Of course, one can argue that why does the guy need to say the truth that he loves her and all that ..... alll he can simply say is that he does not love her anymore and can get rid of this situation, but the problem with this guy is that he really loves her and can not lie to her. It is not just one case, there are many such cases around us, in our friend circle, in our family, in the world around us, where tries to distangle things further adds to entangle them. Like painful breaking up of friendships, I believe most of them happens because of misunderstanding, misunderstandings that are tried to be resolved but all those efforts only adds to more and more misunderstandings leading them to such a state that the only one final solution remains -- "break up".

It is really painful to see such relations breaking up for no reason. As a witness of some similiar dillemas, I can feel the pain that both sides suffer. Sometimes it becomes heart breakening not only to both persons but yet such situations happens, happens every other day in one or another part of the world. In most of these cases, the other person is someone very close to us, someone who understands us better and I suprise, we become unable to explains things to such a person, to make him/her understand when the need arises....how poor we remain on the communication fronts.

Some time ago, I saw a similiar break up, a break up between two lovers. None of them wanted the relation to end and become separate.... but yet they broke up with each other, became separated, and then finally stopped talking to each other. In earlier days after the break-up, they would talk more often but then they started talking less and less and now they rarely talk. They sometimes see each other on the road, turn their face and walk away like they never knew each other. But yet love exist between them, they love each other, still they want to be same like what they were, but the misunderstadings between them have grew up to such an extent that there every step to get back to earlier relationship fails and now they have become exhausted by these failures of making their relationship like what it was.

Sad but true.... sometimes we are really poor when it comes to communicate our thoughts effectively.

Aug 23, 07 GRE-1330

This was a day full of nervousness, uncomfortable feeling, as I had my GRE exam in the evening, the exam long awaited, the exam that carried some expectation, some hopes and consequentially a lot of hardwork and time I had dedicated for it, not to get a score of 1500 but to touch 1250. Yes, that was my target, only 1250.

I did not have proper sleep a day before, and it had cause some tension, mainly because even thinking of answering one question wrong in Gre-Quant is the sin that one guy with poor vocabulary can never afford to commit and the insomania last night had increased probability of wrong answer by a bit, the bit that mattered a lot and could cause a lot.

Among this tension, I tried to sleep in the day but unfortunately couldnt and wasted the time I could have used revising my english vocabulary reading all those lexicons that always confounded me and made fascinated about the lexicographer. How come anyone remember all these words. Well, it was already 11 am and I had to leave from college by 2:30 to reach the prometric center by 4 pm. In these last 3 hrs, I finally reviewed some of the practice math questions to brush up my concepts and mental tissues, had my lunch at 2 pm and then reached prometric by 4 . Soon after the initial formalities, like filling up a form and showing the required documents etc., a guy came who spoke unfaltering fluent english in the speed faster than I had ever heard before. Half of what he was speaking was getting off without landing in the brain. Finally after all of his instruction that were already written at ten different places, he asked us to be ready for entering into the examination chamber. Soon after this, my name was called and before I could enter I was asked to deposit whatever I had in a locker including pencil, pen, wallet and keys. For a moment this amazed me, it was the 1st kind of exam where students are asked to submit there pen, pencil and are allowed to write the exam using the only pencils provided by the examiner.

Fine I got into and 2 really boring issue came, on which I would have been loathful and shown paramount reluctance to even to think(Gre-people are really great at finding the most boring possible topics and giving them as issue of your essay). But soon completion of this 1:15 hrs section made me relaxed and after this I was allowed to take a 10 minute break which I found really helpful and a need. After this I prayed for the verbal section as I wanted to attempt my verbal section first, because in case of attending quant first, doubt in 1-2 question of Quant (even if the reason would have been ambiguity) could have pressurized me and have effected my performance in verbal as well. But finally, the Quant came first, I completed this section with more than 10 mins remaining. But in the end I had doubt in 1 answer and I was almost sure that I was not getting 800. After this quant section, did all the questions of verbal as well, though I felt short of time while attempting 6 questions in last 2 mins. It was basically the result of that 85 lines passage that came in appearance when 10 mins were remaining. I did the passage and now 5 mins were remaing when another passage came and with the advent of this new passage, I knew I was fucked now. It was really terrible when there were 6 questions and 2 minutes but well, somehow I managed to attempt all and escape from the penalty.

After doing some click and committing that yes, I wished to see my scores and not to cancel them, the software showed me my score(by the way the software, created by microsoft was really good, the processings were quick and one can easily find the information one may need during the exam). The first glance at 800, which was my quant score, soothed me little bit, as it was my least target. And the second glance at 530 made me yet more happier. I dont want to say that 1330 is a very good score but it is what I am happy with. So, with the advent of this moment in my life, now the life is now at a new track where I have kept all my books aside, as I am sick of them now(and dont want to even see their face) and have started doing all those things that I would love doing and sparing my time with.

With this, my life-train had come to a station where I could relax and chill for sometime but soome I realized the fact that running on this track is also as important as relaxing and chilling. My next job happens to be selecting universities, which is perhaps a difficult task with a profile like mine, having the most weird diversities as in all my B.Tech., I did the things that I really enjoyed doing and never ever bothered choosing things that were related and went in one stream. Scattered different kind of work, rather than one more coherent, is sure giving hard time in choosing right program, at some good university, that matches my profile.

But the moral from all this I draw is - The ambitions never end and the life-train will keep running, relax and chill but keep running as well.......

interview 4 SABA : God, dont give such interviewer please

interview 4 saba

yes guys come in .....(we were 3 guys and the interviewer-1 called us. we went in ... )

in-1 : have a seat...

we : thank u sir (we = I, adarsh and praneet)

in-1 ok guys,, the same question that i asked to previous batches... there is a table of form student_id, student_name, course_id, course_name, fees. One student can have many courses, one course can be taken by many students.

we: ok sir

in-1: draw a normalized data structure for this...

me: sir, we have to draw normalized data structure? (totally blank by the term normalized data structure... first time ever , i heard this term)

in-1: yes, normalized data structure.

previously i was thinking that it should be normalized database but when the interviewer again used normalized data structure, i was just clean blowed.

me(again): normalized data structure or normalized database?

in-1: yes, normalized data structure

me = totally blank,,, thinking whats the normalized data structure.... thinking for 3-4 minutes.... recalling all the concepts that i had learned.... couldnt find any clue and again asked...

me: sir,,, we have to draw normalized tables

in-1: yes, you have to draw normalized tables

me thinking cant this bullshit interviewers said normalized database. ok fine.

me : sir, the fees is dependent on student_id and course_id both or only on student_id or only on course_id.

in-1: what it should be?

me: it can be either case.(thinking why these ppl dont ask questions clearly, such ambiguous question, dont know what u r asking, neither u explain the question)

he didnt tell me any dependencies till the end.

me: ok sir.... created 4 tables

ok...After this funny question next question comes

in-1: animals can be divided in two classes : 1. mammels 2. birds. both can fly, swim, walk. draw class diagram for this showing all three classes.

me: sir, both can do all 3 activities?

in-1: yes

me drew the 3rd figure you see on top.

in1: in ur class class diagram, an elephant can fly.

me: ok. (thinking then why he said yes before.... i asked the same think. ok let it be) drew the 2nd class diagram you see on top.

in1: can a bird swim ... yes duck swims but all birds dont swim.... how will u show that in ur class diagram....

me thinking you only classified animals in 2 parts , one mammel and another bird .... pahle hi bata deta na ki tumko aur classify karna hai ....

me: sir we can create subclasses of bird class and override the method that we dont require.

in-1: how will u do that?

me drew the 1st figure you see on top .... sir we can have different method bodies for swim method in both subclasses ....

he did nt seem to be happy

me: another solution can be to have 3 interfaces , one for swim, one for walk, one for fly and then implement these 3 interfaces as applicable. So for a bird that can walk and fly but cant swim , we can implement walk interface and fly interface and for a bird that can do all 3 activities , we can implement all 3 interfaces.

in-1 : ok i am done...

now the in-2 comes into the picture:

in-2: asking in-3, should be ask them that question

arrey puchna hai jo pucho but dhang se puchna.... at least give complete question... dont use question hiding ....

in-2: do you understand "is a " relationship and "has a " relationship.

a discussion on these relationship

in-2: i have a linkedlist class and i want to implement stack. should i use "is a " relationship or "has a " relationship.

me: sir, stack a kind of linkedlist where removal and insertion are restricted. Like in linkedlist we can insert anywhere and remove from anywhere but in stack, we can inserted only in the end and we can remove only from the end. So we should use "is a " relationship.

in-3: what can go wrong if i use "is a " relationship?

me: thinking for sometime.... then in stack class we can be able to access data member specific to linklist. superclass member can be visible in subclass, so unwanted linkedlist's member can also be accessed in stack class and a class that inherits stack can use super operator to access linkedlist's member lalblablab ..... i answered this wrongly but this question can be better asked as whether we should extend linkedlist class to implement stack or we should use linkedlist class' instance as data member to implement stack. but the interviewer confused a lot in "is a "/"has a ","is a "/"has a " ... i mean at least state the question clearly... why to confuse candidates in questions only.... and by the time i am critically thinking of my own answer, the interviewer pops up to ask me to tell the flaw in another guy's answer.

1st question was totally bullshit... you dont know dependencies and are baffled with normalized data structure

2nd question ... you classify one thing into 2 and then blame the candidate that he should have further classified the 2's. If that is the case, then you should have stated previously only na, that further classification can be done if required.

question 3: here interviewer was asking things like we have done gross mistake and we are his servant. I really hated that guy but what could I do.... anyway I wanted to sit in placement for saba, after the ppt also.. wrote the test but in the interview I changed my mind... Cant work with these guys.... who just know how to torture candidates but nothing else

finally 17 out of 97, i was there in 17

7 out of 17,,, i was not there in 7... but this time .... no regrets.... but the interviewer were seriously not good.

Mind vs Heart

The mind and the heart, a pair belonging to one single stream of river but flowing on the two opposites sides of the lagoon, at least thats the state of my mind right now. The thing that the mind says is not acceptable to the heart and what heart says does not taste my mind and I haven't and probably cann't figure out whether it is my mind who is writing this or my heart or some other third entity who listens to both but acts onto only what it likes.
It has been last one week that I am not able to concentrate on what I should but playing with only what I want, even in the ambience of the complete knowledge and awareness that my placements, gre everything is at the next door and time will fly without any whistle. It is a deadly combo when both of them do not work concertedly.
From last one week, I have been working on my project, my so called very interested camera project, doing all the things concocted to it, only and only because I love doing it. I know it is important to do other things, specially the most important thing at this stage of my life,i.e., improving my english vocabulary and the language, solving placement papers(at least few if not some, as i know my heart will never let me do all) and concentrating on my papers that possess sinewy potential of laying the base stone of my future but still I spare all my time on just one project and the remaining hours , when I feel myself lazy, palling and laggard, I never miss purging them in a prodigal manner for my hobbies that include hacking, hacking on the internet.
It sucks and it eats every bit of my mind when I find myself released off my own control, wandering freely without any direction, and the worst part of it brews when I find it more and more uncontrolled, not giving heed to things that matters but just doing things aimlessly, shirking from the important things.
They say, you write your emotions on a paper whenever a toofan of them starts sheathing the peace and your enervativeness and the next moment, you will be free of them. This was also an attempt to lessen its intensity.
But still it bothers me, and it will, probably, bother me till I catch the right track again. Let it bother me, that it perhaps the only solution of my unattentiveness for the important thing

--- a mind or a heart.
(I dont know my name)
Everything is illusion, I can feel it again.

my hours at my college library

This was written only for a purpose of timepass and avoid boredom, it has no relevance to any person or character. Any resemblance to any real person should be considered as nothing but only a coincedence.

I was sitting in this library to obviate from the merciless boiling heat. The afternoon was really very hot and i had gone to library to sit in the AC in read some good books but after coming here my wish to read books became deemed and I finally started to write anything on anytopic. Because of my limited imagination, I could not thing beyoud what I was seeing and as a result I started myself on library.

temple of education, yes, that is waht the word library stand for. Lost ? well, this is the first time when i am writing about library while sitting in the library. Currently sitting in the middle of the last row, right under the rotating facn, I am feeling like, I am sitting in an unmanned lonely place because few students are here, but believe me, this library of daiict sees very few days when its empty from the pedantic creatures of this institution. Disorganised, yes, that's what this kind of writing is called, but from a man like me, expecting any better that this is nothing except dumbness and a signal of obtuseness basking in your brain. Well where was I ? yes, library. OK. A place meant for study, silent, concentrated and focused study. A place which is assumned to enhance one's power to gain and understand things with the pin-drop silent environment. A place where you find plenty of books covering whole range of subjects from humanity to science to life and culture to politics and news of every corner of the world and last but not the least, a place where you can sit in the calmness and pen an organised, imaginative and creative essays when you find your room at daiict hostel to be heated up by the merciless sun. Library of daiict is just one of the many other libraries of the world. This is a huge library. By 'huge' I mean, it has vast collection of books from all areas essential for an ICT graduate. Moreover collection of novels and books on philosophy, humanity, thoughts and biographies is also one of its kind. Without any discord, I must accept the highness and greatness of this library from the point of quantity and quality of books. In addition to that, this library also has collaborations with one of world's best libraries. Association with institutions like ACM, IEEE etc. add another gem in this library. This association enables students to freely browse and access and read the journels and papers. This must be consider as one of the best part of this library as these jounels and papers cost too much to be affordable by a normal student. And reluctant students will never be bothered to read them if they are not freely available. The library also buys a large number of magzines regularly. Needless to say, there i no pint in any argument raising question over literature that this library offers to its users.
But as having a quality literature is never adequate for a library, if it does not provides a required enviornment to use it. This perhaps is one of the reasons as to why daiict library has
AC cabins, hundreads of chairs and long balanced well furnished tables, neat and clean rooms and walls, even the fans and lights, computers to browse its catalogue and flower-pots to make the air clean, healthy and full of essential elements for better breath, like oxygen.
This was all about this libraries literature and unparelled facilities. Now, it will be a bit useful to tel about the kind of people who visits it regularly. Without giving information on this, I feel I will not do any justice to the greatness and highness of this library.
Well, when I was in my first semester. I would come here sometimes and everytime I came here, I fell asleep. Its environment happens to be too calm and healthy for me that it makes me relax and sleepy. Sit here under the fan and feel the change in yourself. I can assure that loom of sleep over the eyes will definitely become evident any sincere fellow. This is probably one of the main reasons as to why people like me prefer to study in hostel-room rather than at library. It becomes more irritating when one sits in a relaxed pose with legs streched or with head down on the table or yawning and the librarian comes to awake you from your dreamland and gentally urges ," Sit properly, this is library." and then he makes his voice little more gental and polite and whispers, "this is not your room". Can't a student be allowed to sit in a comfortable pose if he/she wants to. This irritating eye of librarian sometimes makes me feel that this library is no better than jail. Though I respect the highness of greatness of this library but everytime I have to take proper care from being escaped by the watching eyes. So martinet rules are pathetic. So, beacause of all this, you cant expect to find a person like me in this library. Obviously sometimes, there are exceptions, like today, when I am sitting on the first floor in middle of last row of first room right under the rotating fan.
So, there remains 2 types of people who come here regularly. One of these two is extremely pedantic people, for whom, the books are the only and ultimate way of learning and concentration of them remaine unconquered by the extra-calm-calmness of this library. They walk very fast and always have one or two books in their handor they carry a bag. Most boys of this category carries books in hand, but the girls of this category rarely carry books in their hand. The girls generally have a bad with one strip which they tuck on their right shoulder. They walk quickly and as they come near the vicinity of the library, their sincerity increase linearly. The deep thought process eating their mental energy starts becoming vaguelessly perspicuitly visible on their facial screen with their eye brows little strained. Well, they cross the gate of the library quickly and then they sit on one of the empty chairs before computer, open iexplorer and browse the catalogue. They dont waste time in thinking the right key-words, or the name of the author, rather they hit the keys with little more pressure than usual and key in the words without looking at the keyboard. It is their regular practice and so, they are habitual to the typing on the keyboard and they dont need to look down at the keys for this. They quickly filter the search results and note down the book-number of the book chosen and then make a beeline to the right shelf among many other shelves of books. Now, their next stpe depends on the outcome of this whole book searching process. If they dont like the book, they again make a beeline to the computers and repeat the whole process otherwise then they start search for a suitable place to read it. They, naturally, dont waste time in meetings and meaningless discussions, rather they quickly decide a vacant seat and starts switching on the lights and fans above that seat, in case they are switched off. In the whole process of switching a fan on, they switch on many other fans and finally they switch off all other unnessarily switch-on fans in one go and it sounds like 'cclkk'.
I have been writing continuously for sometime and it is the fifth page to be filled up. Rest has become the necessity for my hand now. So, now I am taking a 2 minute break. -------
Welcome after the break! Lost? dont bother about it. Well after choosing a seat, they place their hand inside their pockets to bring their cellphone out and put them onto the table. They read concentrately, and even though they look here and there, their face says that there is something else going in their mind, probably thoughts to grasp a concept which they usually call 'fanda'. Their eyes and face moving in right or left does not mean that they are perturbed by the environment. It is their habbit to focus on fanda, they also exibit this property while speaking this sentence. They generally give little more pressure on the word 'fanda'. They love to prepare notes or get zeroxed of some of the chapters. They also use different registers for different subjects. and dont even try to mingle and entagle all subject in only one register. They are generally proactive in underlining paragraph and after excercising all of the above activities, they feel pround on themselves and happiness of being studious sheds the clouds of happiness of tension and become visible on their lips or facial area near it. After sometime of study and feeling happiness, they stand up and walk slowly and stealthily towards the sofas, their new aim is to pick some magzine and take a dose of the knowledge outside the domain of their books or research interests.

My hands are really tired now. Though my typing speed is pretty good and earlier I had thought that I could type the all 13 and 1/2 pages, but now after 6 pages, I have no will to write any more. I had written this to avoid boredom in library. The afternoon was really very hot and i had gone to library to sit in the AC in read some good books but after coming here my wish to read books became deemed and I finally started to write anything on anytopic. Because of my limited imagination, I could not thing beyoud what I was seeing and as a result I started myself on library. Well, I will very soon upload the image of left pages.

nostalgia of college memories

It was when I was browsing an orkut community of my senior batch, who had to say good bye to our college just few days ago after 4 years of engineering, that the feeling of nostalgia gave me a kick. I was going through the posts in the community and a sense of sentimentalness and strong bathetic expression arising from the heart of my seniors was ubiquitously present in all the posts. It made be dumb-founded for a moment. Is that the way one feels when it comes to say bye ? I have seen many such occasions in my life when a person leaves family or something he loves most, I have seen tears rolling down the eyes, but still these post were enough to convice me that leaving a college is tougher than anything else I have ever envisioned. The guys discussed for batch momento for 3 months, trying to include all opinions in final momento, endeavouring to make it best momento of the world, just to look at it 10 years later to draw a nostalgic feeling, to revive the reminisceces of the 4 years, feared by the fact they might forget a bit of them. I am really struck and nervous by all that. Is that feeling going to hit me after 8-9 months from now. No, I really dont want to feel like that, I cant say good bye to anything, let it be anything, thats the toughest moment I ever face. Later I browsed through their blogs and see what ,,, someone is wrinting of the first day he came to daiict, and to someone, the day he first performed on stage became the long lasting memory, or to someone it was the good time he had with his friends, and to someone the foodcourt in night was the thing never forgottable, the galls, gaming, bunking lectures, screwing grades, night outs, parties, functions and last but not the least prof., everything , everything of it was like piching somewhere to them, brewing a feeling that daiict was best part of their life. 4 years to them were like 4 pals or even shorter which just escapes in one wink. Probably these memories are the most beautiful gift daiict could ever give them. Someone has said this --- jab waqt gujar jata hai to aur bhi hasin ho jata hai ... That's very true. Best of luck to all my seniors in all their endeavours
